- Government reaffirms its commitment to dementia research at first G8 Dementia Summit
On Wednesday 11th December, David Cameron brought health Ministers from across the G8 countries to London for the first G8 Dementia Summit. The Government’s continuing commitment to dementia research was confirmed as the Prime Minister announced that funding for dementia research would double by 2025. This will be on top of the doubling that has already happened over the past 5 years.
- The MARQUE STUDY – DeNDRoN supporting the first ever longitudinal study in UK care homes.
The MARQUE study is one of the six projects awarded £20 million in funding today by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), which will significantly add to our understanding of dementia.
- ESRC announces six new studies for dementia research
Today at the G8 Dementia Summit, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) along with the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) has announced an investment of £20 million additional funds into six dementia research projects. Over the last 18 months, DeNDRoN has supported ESRC grant applicants and social care researchers throughout the grant writing process with writing groups, and, deliverability advice through ENRICH.
